We stopped on our way to Exeter to view Coventry Cathedral, on the recommendation of one of our church friends. It was most interesting, as it had a new building side by side with the stone shell of the old building, which had been mostly destroyed in the bombing of WW2. The juxtaposition of the two formed quite a unique streetscape. We also went on a tour of the Guild Hall, a Tudor building which had been restored. These pictures show the two cathedrals side by side; John in the old cathedral; Elizabeth outside the new cathedral; and the Guildhall viewed from the gallery inside.
